Hollywood
by Keric Sullivan in honor of his neighbor Greg Catherwood
A year in time so long ago,
In a far off place you came to know
The true meaning of valor and ultimate trust,
Cause without those virtues, every mission was bust!
Those ops you did with your beloved team
To us outsiders seem like surreal dreams.
Forgive us please, for we can’t comprehend
Why the scars you bear are forever to mend.
The bonds that formed in that inevitable hell,
A lifetime later you’re still refusing to quell.
You, Newcomb, King, Durr, Gay, Brown, and others,
Are more tightly knit than any true brothers.
I see you now, so different from then,
Who would know you are heroes, instead of just men?
We thank God for your lives and all that you gave,
For our road to freedom is one you helped to pave.
MANY THANKS
